Why vary perch diameters?

A single smooth perch always tires the same pressure points and can cause calluses. By alternating several diameters, the foot works differently, circulation improves and the bird builds muscle. Offer irregular sections, like natural wood, to mimic tree branches and prevent foot problems.

Wood or mineral: which perch should you choose?

The two complement each other. The wooden perch, supple and warm, serves as the main resting spot and protects the pads. The mineral or stone perch, more abrasive, naturally wears nails and beak, which limits trimming. The ideal is to add a mineral perch as a complement, without making it the only support.
