The right litter tray: guaranteed cleanliness, a comfortable cat

Too small, too high, badly placed: an unsuitable tray and the cat snubs its litter. The choice of tray matters as much as the litter to avoid accidents and keep the home clean.

Which litter tray size to choose?

Aim for about one and a half times your cat's length, so it can turn and dig freely. A kitten or older cat will appreciate a low rim, easy to step over; a large cat, a spacious high-sided tray against scatter.

How many trays do you need at home?

The rule: one tray per cat, plus one. Spread them in quiet, different spots. Two cats sharing a single tray often means tension and accidents that an extra tray simply avoids.

Our litter trays range

  • Classic open trays: simple and easy to access.
  • High-sided trays: limit litter scatter.
  • Kitten and senior trays: low entry, easy to step over.
  • Sieve trays: separate clean litter from soiling.
  • Accessories: scoops, floor mats and tray liners.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: place the tray in a quiet, accessible spot away from the food bowl: a cat dislikes toileting near where it eats. And keep it always clean — the number-one cause of house-soiling is a dirty tray.
