Goldfish food
Healthy feeding for your cold-water goldfish
The goldfish lives in cold water, between 18 and 22 °C, and has a sensitive digestive system. A great glutton, it constantly begs but tolerates excess poorly: suitable food and a measured dose prevent digestive troubles and cloudy water. AnimalParadise selects pellets and sticks made for its digestion.
Why pellets rather than flakes for goldfish?
Goldfish-specific pellets are formulated for easy digestion, with a good fibre balance that limits bloating and swim-bladder problems. Soaked for a few seconds, they swell before being swallowed and stop the fish from taking in too much air at the surface.
How do I avoid overfeeding?
The goldfish begs constantly, but you should not give in: offer a small ration eaten within two minutes, once or twice a day, and keep one fasting day a week. Uneaten leftovers quickly pollute a cold-water tank that is often lightly filtered.
Our range for goldfish
- Digestion pellets : a fibre-rich formula for easy transit and a healthy swim bladder.
- Soaking sticks : they swell before feeding to limit air intake.
- Extra foods : plants and prey to add variety without overloading the tank.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: prefer several small feedings to one big meal and remove leftovers after a few minutes: a lean, active goldfish lives far longer than an overfed one.
All our goldfish food is delivered quickly throughout Europe, for a healthy, clear cold-water pond or aquarium.
