Cat grass: a natural reflex that's good for digestion

Is your cat nibbling your houseplants? It's a natural need: grass helps it bring up swallowed hair and aids digestion. Better to offer safe cat grass than let it taste sometimes-toxic plants.

Cat grass or catnip: what's the difference?

Cat grass (barley, wheat, oats) is eaten and helps clear hairballs. Catnip and valerian, on the other hand, give a euphoric effect and encourage play. Two different, complementary uses.

How do you grow cat grass?

Sow the seeds in a little compost, water and place in the light: a few days are enough. Offer it fresh and renew it, especially for an indoor cat with no access to a garden.

Our cat grass and catnip range

  • Ready-to-use cat grass: place directly, no growing needed.
  • Kits and seeds to grow: barley, wheat, oats.
  • Catnip: leaves, sprays and stimulating toys.
  • Valerian and Matatabi: alternatives to vary the pleasures.
  • Anti-hairball supplements: in paste or treat form.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: offer cat grass away from meals and watch the first time: most cats self-regulate, but a sudden excess can cause vomiting. A small pot renewed regularly is enough.
