Aquarium boats and shipwrecks
Boats and shipwrecks: an underwater adventure on the tank floor
Stranded galleons, time-worn hulls and capsized vessels plunge your aquarium into an atmosphere of exploration and mystery. At AnimalParadise, our decorative boats and shipwrecks create a spectacular scene while offering your fish valuable hideaways. Portholes, open holds and collapsed decks all become refuges to explore.
Does a shipwreck really work as a hideaway for fish?
Yes, and that is one of its greatest strengths. Hollow hulls, portholes and open holds provide shaded zones where your fish retreat to rest or escape stress. These shelters reduce tension between individuals and reassure shy species, which gain confidence as soon as they have a safe retreat. The wreck becomes both a spectacular decor and a living territory.
How do I fit a galleon or stranded vessel into my aquascape?
For a realistic look, set the wreck slightly tilted or lying on its side, as if after a sinking, and surround it with sand and a few rocks. Mosses and slow-growing plants attached to the hull heighten the aged effect and blend the boat into the landscape. Point the bow towards the front of the tank to guide the eye to this point of adventure.
Our range of decorative boats and shipwrecks
- Galleons and sailing ships : detailed vessels that set a sunken-treasure and adventure mood.
- Stranded wrecks : capsized, weathered hulls, perfect for multiplying hideaways.
- Rowboats and small vessels : compact models ideal for nano tanks and understated scenes.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: check that the wreck openings (portholes, holds) are wide enough for your fish to enter and exit without getting stuck. Smooth any inner edges if needed and position the main opening away from the filter direct flow.
Chosen for their realism and safe finishing, our boats and shipwrecks are shipped quickly throughout Europe so the underwater adventure can begin without delay.
