Insect hotels

The insect hotel, a communal refuge for all your garden biodiversity

A true block of many compartments, the insect hotel brings together everything helpful insects love in a single shelter: drilled logs, hollow stems, pine cones and wooden slats. It welcomes a whole range of useful species at once.

Which insects move into an insect hotel?

Each compartment targets a species: hollow stems for solitary bees, fine slits for ladybirds, pine cones for lacewings and earwigs. A single shelter thus hosts a whole procession of helpers.

Where should I place an insect hotel?

Set it in a quiet spot, its back to the prevailing winds and facing south or south-east, at least 30 cm off the ground. Being near a flower bed or vegetable patch greatly increases its chances of being colonised.

Our range of insect hotels

  • Large insect hotels : multi-compartment shelters combining several materials to welcome many species.
  • Compact free-standing models : smaller hotels, perfect for balconies and small gardens.
  • Fillings and refills : drilled logs, stems and slats to maintain or top up your hotel.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: Vary the materials and cavity diameters as much as possible: the more diverse the compartments, the more different species the hotel attracts and the stronger your garden natural balance.

Our insect hotels are shipped quickly and carefully packaged across Europe, for a garden rich in biodiversity all year round.
