Bird anti-parasite
Protecting your bird from red mites and mites
Red mites and mites are the silent enemy of cage birds: they weaken the animal, disturb its sleep and hide in the smallest corners. AnimalParadise brings together anti-parasites to treat both the bird and its environment, breaking the parasite cycle for good.
How do I know if my bird has red mites?
A bird that is restless at night, scratches, loses feathers or seems tired may be infested. Inspect the cage with a lamp after nightfall: red mites leave the crevices to bite and form small greyish or reddish clusters.
Should I treat the bird and the cage at the same time?
Yes, it is essential. Parasites spend the day hidden in the cage, not on the bird. Treat the animal with a suitable product, then disinfect perches, nest boxes and crevices, and repeat to eliminate newly hatched larvae.
Our range of bird anti-parasites
- Treating the bird : gentle sprays and powders to remove mites from the plumage.
- Treating the cage : solutions to disinfect bars, perches and corners.
- Prevention : plant-based products to limit the return of parasites.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: always repeat the treatment after seven to ten days; the eggs survive the first application and then hatch, restarting the infestation if you stop too soon.
