Hay rack
The hay rack: clean hay, off the ground
At AnimalParadise, the hay rack fixes to the wall of the cage or pen to present hay and fresh vegetables at animal height. No more hay trampled and soiled on the floor: your rabbit or guinea pig pulls the strands through the bars, without waste and keeping its ration nice and clean.
Why use a rack rather than putting hay on the floor?
Placed on the floor, hay is quickly trampled, mixed with the bedding and soiled by droppings. The rack keeps hay up high, dry and protected, which reduces waste and limits the digestive risks linked to dirty forage. It also keeps the animal busy, pulling strands as it would in the wild.
Can I also put fresh vegetables in it?
Yes, a rack is perfect for lettuce leaves, tops and fresh herbs, in addition to hay. The vegetables stay clean and easy to grab, without dragging in the bedding. Just remember to remove uneaten leftovers every day to preserve hygiene.
Our range of hay racks
- Wall-mounted models : to clip onto the bars or screw on, freeing up the cage floor.
- Hay and vegetables : bar spacing designed for hay as well as for greens.
- Sturdy materials : metal or plastic resistant to teeth, easy to refill and clean.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: install the rack above a clean corner of the cage, never above the litter tray, so that the strands that fall remain edible and do not lead to waste.
