Collar, harness and leash: safety and walks for your cat

Identifying your cat, keeping it safe outdoors or introducing it to leash walks… the gear must stay comfortable and above all safe, because a cat slips and struggles differently from a dog.

Collar or harness to take my cat out?

For walks, always prefer the harness: a collar alone can hurt the throat of a cat that pulls. The collar stays useful for identification and a bell, as long as it has a safety buckle.

Why a safety-buckle collar?

A cat climbs and squeezes in everywhere. A classic collar can strangle it if it catches on a branch. The safety (breakaway) buckle gives way under tension and frees the animal: it's a lifesaver.

Our collars, leashes and harnesses range

  • Safety-buckle collars: release if snagged.
  • Comfort harnesses: spread the tension, without hurting the throat.
  • Light leashes: for a gentle walk.
  • ID tags and tubes: to recover a lost cat.
  • Bell and reflective collars: spot it, day or night.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: get your cat used to the harness at home first, a few minutes a day, before any outing: it must feel free to move in it. A forced cat freezes or panics; a used-to-it cat explores calmly.
