Parrots

Feeding your parrots well

African greys, amazons and macaws are large parrots with a powerful beak and big appetites. A rich mix of large seeds, dried fruit and nuts covers their energy while keeping the beak busy all day long.

Can a parrot live on seeds alone?

No: an all-seed diet is too fatty and deficient. Pair a quality mix with fruit, vegetables and nuts, or choose complete pellets to balance vitamins and minerals.

Why offer nuts and dried fruit?

Nuts provide good fats and keep the parrot’s powerful beak occupied, while dried fruit adds natural sugars and variety that limit boredom in the cage.

Our range of parrot food

  • Large parakeet and parrot mixes : big seeds, sunflower and cereals for greys, amazons and macaws.
  • Fruit, nuts and pellets : dried fruit, whole nuts and complete pellets for a balanced diet.
  • Foraging treats : sprays, blocks and branches to occupy the beak and wear the horn.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: hide some of the nuts inside foraging toys: your parrot works its beak and mind to find them, which markedly reduces feather plucking.

All our items ship quickly throughout Europe, giving your parrots a rich and varied diet.
