Replacement sisal scratching post
Bring your cat tree back to life with a new sisal post
The scratching post is the part that suffers most: the sisal frays, loosens and eventually stops catching the claws. Rather than replacing the whole tree, just swap the worn post. At AnimalParadise, our replacement sisal posts screw onto most structures and instantly give your cat a firm, satisfying scratching surface again.
How do I know if my sisal post needs replacing?
A post due for a change shows a loose sisal rope, frayed along its whole height, or one that spins freely around the central core. If your cat deserts the post to scratch the sofa, it is often because the surface no longer offers enough resistance. A single replacement post is then enough to revive its interest, without changing the rest of the tree.
Which post diameter and fixing should I choose?
Measure the diameter of the old post (often 7, 9 or 12 cm) and identify the fixing system: a through threaded rod, a screwed insert or a base plate. Choose a replacement post with the same diameter and thread pitch for a direct fit. If in doubt, a standard-threaded post covers most trees on the market.
Our range of replacement sisal posts
- Standard sisal posts : natural sisal ropes wound tightly onto a rigid core, for firm and durable scratching.
- Through-threaded posts : models with a threaded rod to replace a central post on trees with visible hardware.
- Short posts and extensions : replacement sections to rebuild a base or extend an existing scratching column.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: before ordering, count the sisal turns and measure the exact height of the post: a model with the right diameter but too short will leave an unsightly gap and an unstable fixing at the top of the column.
Our replacement sisal posts ship quickly across Europe, so your cat gets a proper scratching post back with a single turn of the screw.
