Aquarium Rocks and Stones
Structure your aquarium with natural rocks and stones
Stone is the backbone of a beautiful aquascape: it creates relief, frames plant beds and adds depth to the tank. At AnimalParadise, we bring together rocks with varied textures to build structured mineral landscapes and stable stacks, all while respecting your water balance.
Which rocks can I choose without upsetting the water?
Favour inert stones that do not alter parameters, such as dark lava rock, or seiryu-type stone used in moderation. Some limestone rocks raise pH and hardness: they suit cichlid tanks but should be avoided in soft, acidic water.
How do I build a stable stone stack?
Always place the first row directly on the glass, on a foam mat, before adding substrate, and interlock the stones by their flat faces. For tall structures, bond the pieces with cyanoacrylate glue or special aquarium mortar to prevent any collapse.
Our aquarium rocks and stones range
- Lava rock : light, porous stone, ideal for structuring and hosting mosses and bacteria.
- Aquascaping stone : seiryu or dragon-type rocks with pronounced relief to compose a mineral landscape.
- Pebbles and flat stones : rounded pieces to define zones, create terraces and stabilise the layout.
The AnimalParadise expert tip: test an unknown rock with a few drops of vinegar: if it fizzes, it is calcareous and will raise the pH; save it then for tanks that enjoy hard water.
Delivered across Europe, our rocks let you compose a structured, stable aquascape that lasts for years.
